FeaturesOur Dutch client is supplying a pilot plant for an end user in South Africa. A number of heat exchangers are required for the proper operation of this installation. In all coolers, the process gas is cooled by means of (cooling) water or refrigerant. Some condensation also occurs during this process. The cooling medium passes through the tubes and the process through the shell.

Since this involves a pilot plant, various cases had to be simulated. Robox was able to provide excellent service to the client because all the necessary knowledge and software are available in-house to perform these simulations reliably.

The end customer has a significant number of specifications regarding design, material testing, and inspections. Furthermore, the heat exchangers had to be provided with a U-stamp. Robox combined all requirements and wishes and outsourced the U-stamp work. Robox managed this process, unburdening the client. Ultimately, this allowed for the delivery of a package that met all requirements and specifications.

All coolers have a single-pass shell, removable U-bundle, and a removable bonnet type header, TEMA types BEU. Tubes in stainless steel 321, shells and covers in stainless steel 321/304/316(L). Designed and built according to PED cat. IV/Mod.G and ASME VIII Div.1 (with U-stamp), TEMA R, and NACE MR 0175.
