The gas/glycol heat exchanger is a liquid/gas exchanger. In this unit, lean TEG is heated by allowing warm Dry Gas to flow on the other side.
The Lean/Rich glycol heat exchanger is a liquid/liquid exchanger in which heat is recovered from the Lean TEG and added to the Rich glycol, reducing the energy required to fully heat the Rich TEG. Due to the temperature overlap, an F-shell with a horizontal longitudinal baffle in the shell was selected, making it a 2-pass unit. By using U-tubes, pure countercurrent flow and a maximum LMTD are achieved.
Both are S&T heat exchangers. The gas/glycol heat exchanger features a one-pass shell, fixed tubesheets, and bonnets welded integrally to the tubesheets. TEMA type BEM 555/4000.
The glycol gas heat exchanger has a 2-pass shell, a removable U-bundle with a horizontal longitudinal baffle in the shell. TEMA type BFU 356/4000. Entirely constructed from carbon steel.
Designed and built according to ASME VIII Div.1, TEMA R, and API 660.
