After Gas Cooler, L.O. Cooler, S.O. Cooler, MO Cooler

ClassificationLiquid/Gas Coolers and Liquid/liquid coolers. Shell & Tube, floating head with backing ring, inlet channel with removable cover. MO cooler with fixed tubesheets, no headers (installed directly in the piping)
FeaturesOur client is supplying a compressor package for an end customer in Gelsenkirchen. This requires various coolers, including a gas after cooler and several oil coolers. The purpose of these coolers is to dissipate the heat generated by the compressor, which is absorbed by the gas and oil.

After Gas Cooler, L.O. Cooler, S.O. Cooler, MO Cooler

The heat exchangers are all water-cooled, with the cooling water passing through the tubes and the gas or oil through the shell. In this case, they are designed as a floating head with a backing ring and an inlet channel with a removable cover. This allows for easy inspection and maintenance of the cooling water side. The MO cooler is small enough to be integrated into the piping as a fixed tubesheet exchanger without connection covers.

The end customer has extensive historical customer specifications and requested a design according to AD Merkblätter. A vibration analysis was also required. Due to the water quality, the bundles must be manufactured from (22% Cr) Duplex. Integrating the coolers into our client’s package required close cooperation and communication.

Robox successfully combined all these requirements into a package that was delivered to the satisfaction of both the client and the end customer.

These are S&T heat exchangers with a one-pass shell, floating head with backing ring, and removable channel with cover plate. TEMA type AES (_EM for the MO cooler). Shells in carbon steel, tubes in (22% Cr) Duplex. Designed and built according to PED cat. IV/Mod G (gas cooler), Cat. II/Mod. G (LO and SO cooler) and art. 4 paragraph 3 (MO cooler), AD 2000, TEMA R (Gas Cooler) and C (oil coolers), and customer specifications.
