Lube Oil Cooler

ClassificationLiquid/Liquid heat exchanger. Shell & Tube, removable U-tube bundle, shell with longitudinal baffle, removable bonnet type header.
FeaturesFor a mobile gas compression skid destined for Belarus, our client assembling this skid required an oil cooler to cool the compressor. The oil cooler is a liquid/liquid cooler and uses coolant (in the tubes) to cool the oil that heats up as a result of the heat generated by the compressor.

Lube Oil Cooler

Since it concerned a mobile unit, a device as efficient and compact as possible had to be designed. Due to the fact that the temperature approach between the oil and the coolant was very small, an F-shell with a horizontal longitudinal baffle in the shell was selected.

This creates a 2-pass shell, and by using U-tubes, pure counterflow and maximum LMTD are achieved. Because Robox performs all work in-house, the client could be fully supported in obtaining permission for admission to the Belarusian market by providing all necessary data.

The oil cooler features a 2-pass shell, removable U-bundle with a horizontal longitudinal baffle in the shell, and a removable bonnet type header, TEMA type BFU 324/2700. Entirely constructed in carbon steel. Designed and built according to PED cat. II/Mod.A1 and ASME VIII Div.1
