For this project, we were asked by an engineering firm to provide an air cooler for a large-scale expansion. The end user is a chemical plant.
In the production process, thermal oil is heated and must be cooled back down by the heat exchanger supplied by Robox. Because this production process involves various operating cases, this air cooler is equipped with frequency converters.
The oil is cooled using finned tubes over multiple passes. However, because the installation is located on the coast, we chose extruded fins so that the base material of the tube does not come into contact with the outside air. For the same reason, the fins are made of marine-grade aluminum.
This concerns an air cooler with removable headers and high-finned tubes. The air cooler uses 2 fans with an adjustable blade pitch. The entire unit is designed according to API 661.
