In-house energy plant where a mushroom grower’s compost is burned to meet its own energy needs.
With the steam heater, central heating water is heated by condensation of low-pressure steam. This is actually a condenser. In the other condenser, air is dried by letting the water condense out with the aid of cooling water.
Innovative project in which “Champost” is burned. With the steam from the steam boiler, electrical energy is then generated by a steam turbine. Residual heat is used to dry the compost and low-pressure steam is used to heat up central heating water. In this way, maximum efficiency is obtained from the combustion heat. The compost, which would otherwise have to be removed and processed at cost, now provides the grower with energy and therefore money. ROBOX was able to help in the development of the plan due to its process knowledge and thermal expertise. By actively participating, the process and the various components could be optimized.

“ROBOX heat exchangers are part of the vacuum systems that we develop and produce. In addition, ROBOX supports us substantively in the process simulation from gas to liquid through our in-house developed condensers. ROBOX’s careful calculations, performed with advanced HTRI software, ensure that our condensers have the ideal design and can deliver optimal performance.
A number of our customers in the chemical sector require a large amount of documentation from us. Partly
our cooperation with ROBOX enables us to meet the size and expected quality of the documents. These data are subject to extra critical checks because the projects or applications of these parties usually involve a security risk. It is then important that the documentation is completely correct. This feeds the confidence of our customers. On the other hand, it ensures efficiency within our business processes.
ROBOX embodies this efficiency for us: they immediately understand what is needed, respond quickly and are a reliable partner. A well-informed and substantively strong partner who is one of the few suppliers who actually knows how to fathom the properties of our product systems. ”
