For a distillation factory for DEG / TEG to be built by our customer, heat exchangers are needed for the various steps in the process. These ensure the optimal course of the process, both thermally and energetically.
In the pre-heater, the product flow is preheated with a bottom flow. The bottom, top and draw-off cooler are used to cool the product flow with water. These are all liquid heaters / coolers without phase transition, where the heat transfer takes place between 2 liquids.
Our customer is building a complete distillation factory for DEG / TEG for the first time. Before that, the focus was mainly on columns and the internals. ROBOX has been approached by MTE to build the heat exchangers for this distillation unit. The heat exchangers had already been calculated by another party. During thermal inspection with HTRI software, ROBOX discovered errors in these design calculations. This saved the client from having a non-working unit delivered. ROBOX has performed new calculations and also manufactured the heat exchangers. Because the design of the installation was already well advanced, limited space had to be taken into account. The design has remained compact due to the use of innovative wire mesh turbulators.
The time pressure was high due to lost time to correct errors made elsewhere. ROBOX has switched extremely quickly and therefore realized everything within a very short delivery time. The unit was started up to the full satisfaction of the client and functions excellently. Incredibly high purities of the product are achieved. New assignments soon followed.
