The gas / glycol heat exchanger is a liquid / gas exchanger. Lean TEG is heated in this by allowing warm Dry Gas to flow on the other side.
The Lean / Rich glycol heat exchanger is a liquid / liquid exchanger in which heat is recovered from the Lean TEG and added to the Rich glycol so that less energy is needed to fully heat the Rich TEG. Due to the temperature overlap, an F-shell with a horizontal longitudinal bulkhead in the hull was chosen, making this a 2-pass and achieving pure countercurrent and maximum LMTD by using U-tubes.
They are both S&T heat exchangers. The gas / glycol heat exchanger with a one-pass shell, fixed tube plates and bonnets integrally welded to the tubesheets. TEMA type BEM 555/4000.
The glycol gas heat exchanger has a 2-pass shell, removable u-bundle with horizontal longitudinal bulkhead in the hull. TEMA type BFU 356/4000. Everything completely executed in C-steel.
Designed and built to ASME VIII Div.1, TEMA R and API 660.
